Reasons women chose to modify the way they look are because they don’t feel pretty, skinny, tight or young enough. These thoughts are derived from society’s high beauty standards. The idea of perfection is portrayed unrealistically, pushing women to feel uncomfortable in their own natural skin. The design of this body suit is a statement to all women who turn to cosmetic and plastic surgery as a solution to the discomfort with heir own bodies. The bodysuit demonstrates constraint and discomfort, and blatantly states all the possible procedures that could be done to modify the female upper body.

The objective was to highlight the main body parts women chose to modify surgically with seem fitting body-wear, overlaid with drawn surgical cut lines. A non-stretch muslin fabric was used to show constraint within the garment, illustrating how a woman can feel trapped in her own skin.
